You need to know the difference between happy thoughts and a loving spirit. It is important because happy thoughts are what most people are trying to employ when in satisfying their soul. Change your thoughts, change your life. This is not enough. Change your thoughts and you change your material perspective. This is definitely something you should do. Mental stimulation is important. We need to feel we are growing in our knowledge and, more importantly, in our wisdom. This occurs not when thoughts are guiding themselves, for your thoughts have no higher sense of your being. Only when your thoughts are directed by the higher power of your spirit will they lead you to a greater awareness that you can truly call wisdom.
To achieve this, you must learn to shift your consciousness from your thoughts to your spirit and to give your soul what it needs–loving service to others that is reciprocated.
Generating The Love Steam
In a sauna, steam is produced by water on hot coals. Similarly, love is the steam produced by a connection from an inspired soul. We all want to bask in that love steam, feel it penetrate us and calm our minds and bodies. This love steam is the food for our soul. We must make an active effort toward doing so collectively. You can’t make a sauna with just one coal in the open air. You need to get together and all contribute to the love steam that you can all bask in.
It’s important to understand that you don’t need to do this all the time. Like the great spiritual teacher Homer Simpson said, “I just want to get into heaven. I don’t want to be Jesus.” You don’t have to become a monk or a Mother Theresa. But you do need to make the effort. We give up on our spirituality–on basking in the love steam–because we attempt to produce it for ourselves, and often with the attitude of we will believe it when we see it.
It’s like sitting in front of a pile of wood, kindling and matches and telling yourself that I’ll believe fire exists when I see it spontaneously combust in front me. Or worse yet, wait for God to strike the pile with a lightning bolt and make you see.
The fuel for your spirituality is piled around you in the form of the presence of other people. The kindling is there in the form of your minds ability to imagine and execute unlimited forms of mutually beneficially connections. And so all the spiritual world needs to any of us if for all of us to see that it is not a lightning bolt from heaven that will light the fire of your soul. It is simply understanding and effort by all of us.
Light the Spark
“You’ll see it when you believe it.” Dr. Wayne Dyer
That phrase, made famous by uncle, is often misinterpreted as mystical mumbo jumbo. Because people mistake it for a gift of manipulating the spiritual world. It doesn’t help that many con men use tricks like spiritually bending spoons as proof of this power and then promise people that by paying to learn their secret they can manipulate physical reality.
Who the hell wants to spend time learning to bend spoons with our mind? Our hands already know how to do it.
Of course you can’t just see yourself winning the lottery and, in doing so, achieve it. That is
ridiculous. Your spirit has no control of the material world. But you have the ability to see the material world as secondary to the spiritual one, and in doing so realize that full control of your primary energy–your spiritual energy–is under your control. What you believe in our soul is the substance of the spirit that we will manifest around us. It is the substance of the spiritual “steam” we all bask in. And it is entirely within our control.
The secret of seeing the spiritual world is seeing that manipulating the material world doesn’t matter. You don’t want to bend spoons. You want to bend souls–especially your own.
And you can, not with the power of your mind, but the power of your spirit. You can start a wave that will grow and flow through everyone. You can start generating the spiritual steam that fulfills all our souls.
And you don’t need any special skill to do it, just the basic understanding of what you are, and then some sincere effort in learning how to fulfill yourself and others spiritually.
That’s it.
